The Lincoln County Ambulance District’s Professional EMS Association recently awarded two area seniors with its Star of Life scholarship. The two winners of a $500 Scholarship are Kelsey Sachs and Jordan Hurt.

Kelsey Sachs

Kelsey Sachs is a graduate of Troy Buchanan High School, and is the daughter of Mark and Karen Sachs. 

She plans on attending McKendree University in the fall and is going to study Nursing. The other scholarship winner is Jordan Hurt. Hurt is the daughter of Jim and Janis Hurt.  

She graduated from Silex High School, and plans on attending either Boone County EMS Education or IHM Academy of EMS.  In either case, Jordan will be pursuing an EMT/Paramedic License and Firefighter certifications.

“We will be keeping an eye on Jordan,” a press release from the Ambulance District stated.  “We love it when our hometown kids come back and work in the community they grew up in.”
