The Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library will hold its annual Summer Reading Program for kids grades K-5 beginning on June 1 at 10 a.m. at the library.

The programs are free and will keep reading skills strong during the summer months when school is not in session.  This year will include lots of music, games, crafts and reading.

The first program on June 1 will be presented by St. Louis magicians Abra-Kid-Abra.

“Magic is a great vehicle to engage students’ attention and use different tricks to convey an educational or character message. Accordingly, our magic programs are designed to excite kids about reading.”

One of the highlights this year will be a return of musician BABALOO on July 13 for a concert at the library.  Babaloo is renowned for his wacky performances and well loved by kids.

Other programs will include rockets, Japanese Culture, ants, music and lots of reading.  Call the library at 573 898 5821 if you have questions about the program.
