Kindergarten registration to be held at Elsberry R-II School District

Children DO NOT have to be present at time of registration.  According to the Missouri Department of Education children must be 5 years of age before August 1, 2023 to attend Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year.  If your child is not 5 years of age by August 1, 2023, he/she will be required to wait until next school year to attend kindergarten.  To register your child, you will need to bring the following:

If your CHILD attends Elsberry R-II Preschool Program you DO NOT need to register them for Kindergarten, they are already in the system. If anything listed below needs to be updated please do that through preschool. 

• Child’s birth certificate (state copy, if you need to get a state copy of your child’s birth certificate, it can be purchased at Lincoln County Health Department, 5 Health Department Drive, Troy, MO).

• Immunization Record 

• Current forms of Proof of Residency (i.e. Lease, rental or purchase contract, utility bill, medical bill, current tax statement or voter ID card etc.)

• Any court documents if applicable (divorce decree/parenting plan, Guardianship Documentation, Foster or DFS Placement Documentation).

When you come for registration, we will then set up a time to screen your child. Remember your child is not expected to display every skill or perform it perfectly.  Tasks are arranged developmentally so that we can determine if your child is performing in the average range according to his/her age.  If your child has been screened already this school year, they will not need to be screened at this time.  Screening dates are April 12th and 13th.
