Recently, Elsberry High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members traveled to Hannibal LaGrange University to compete in the District Leadership Conference. Twenty schools from the area came together for the day to compete in many different events, such as, Public Speaking, Business Ethics, Entrepreneurship, and Graphic Design, just to name a few. Elsberry took 15 members to DCL of which 12 came home with medals and five that qualified to compete at the state level. The members were accompanied to the event by their sponsor Judy Gomel.
Those going on to state competition in their event are: Brooke Gray, first, Accounting II, and first, Intro to Public Speaking; Trevor Anthony, first, Agribusiness, and fourth, Business Calculation; Cydney Jordan, first, Future Business Leader; Hailey King, first, Help Desk; and Madison Leckbee, fourth, Into to Business Procedures.
Also receiving medals but not advancing were: Danielle Georgie, fifth, Word Processing; Ella Gomel, Katina Galati, Tyler Jordan, second, Intro to Business Presentation Team; Brylie King and Madeline Burke, fourth, Publication Design Team; and Madison Leckbee, fourth, Impromptu Speaking.
