Within the last year the iconic and world famous Gateway Arch and the grounds were renovated for all to enjoy and learn the history of the historic monument with modern touches.

Recently, the Missouri History class at Elsberry High School was the recipient of a grant through the Gateway Arch Park Foundation Journey Fund.  This allowed the class an all-expense paid trip to the Gateway Arch National Park.  Students received a tour of the museum with a park ranger, a trip to the top of the arch, a viewing of the documentary “Monument to the Dream, and a free lunch.

This field trip was made possible because of the extra work of social studies teacher, Matt Easley who wanted his students to experience something that people right here in the area never take the opportunity to do.
