During the Elsberry High School Commencement Exercises on Sunday afternoon, 55 students moved their tassels after they were presented their diplomas by members of the school district.  


The event honored this extraordinary group of graduates and their accomplishments.  The Senior Address was given by Jaime Richards and Madeline Hartwell, while Trevor Anthony was named as the Outstanding Senior by the faculty at EHS.

Featured as the Valedictorian from the Class of 2019 was Carolyn Wehmeyer, who made history with a standing ovation, given to her by her classmates as she walked on stage.  Juan Valencia and Harmon Kreuger tied for the second position of Salutatorian.  Rounding out the top 10 were Megan Wollgast, fourth; Trevor Anthony, fifth; Josie Horne, sixth; Tess Weakly, seventh; Lauryn Eberhart, eighth; Kara Lovelace, ninth; and tied for 10 place were Clare Henry and Nicholas Stone.  

Three students were recognized for entering the Military after graduation.  CaraRose King and Stephen Boedeker will be entering the Army this summer and Carson Trammell while attending Iowa State University will complete the US Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program.

Elsberry has once again been designated an A+ school.  Students who quality for the A+ scholarship receive an associate’s degree free of charge at any Missouri public community college or technical school providing they meet the requirements.  Student receiving this award were Trevor Anthony, Megan Hagemeier, Clare Henry, Matthew Hensley, Mackenzie Johnson, Tanner Marre, Nathan Reed, Nicholas Stone, Carson Trammell, Carolyn Wehmeyer and Megan Wollgast.
