Troy, Mo. - Troy Buchanan High School Band Teacher, Eric Blankenship, received the Regional Teacher of the Year award for the Heart of Missouri Region.

“I am flattered to be recognized as Regional Teacher of the Year,” said Blankenship. “I am proud of the students I have the privilege to work with within Troy.”
“The success of our band program is a combination of a great group of students, a great group of teachers and a supportive school district,” said Blankenship.
Blankenship, is getting ready to start his 20th year teaching at Troy R-3. This will be his 24th year in Missouri public schools.
“I direct the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Ninth Grade Band and both of the TBHS Jazz Ensembles,” Blankenship said. “In addition, I also teach Advanced Placement Music Theory.”
Blankenship was also named the 2020 Troy R-3 Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for the Troy R-3 Teacher of the Year in 2019 and 2017.
