Hi! My name is Lauralye Richardson. This is my 5th year in Spring Branch Helping Hands 4-H club. My projects include Arts and Crafts, Photography, Poultry, Dogs, Microwave Magic, and Foods. 4-H has helped me to learn new skills and build my confidence.
I am shy but through 4-H activities I continue to work on public speaking. This year our county had Judging and Achievement day. I gave 3 demonstrations, judged and gave reasons for 3 categories, and participated in Extemporaneous Speaking. I did really good and received first in class for my demonstration and Extemporaneous Speaking.
As the game leader for my club I was able to be outspoken enough to plan, explain and lead the games at club meetings.
I have built my confidence and others have noticed with judging comments on my score cards stating that I had great voice flexion and flow. Before I would talk quietly and fast to get out as quickly as possible. At school this year I had the confidence to try out for dance and show choir and made it. I know 4-H has helped me build confidence!
