This past Saturday the local Family Dollar store held its Grand (Re-) Opening of the Family Dollar with the addition of a Dollar Stop.
On hand for the celebration were the regional manager, Mike Mullony, district manager, Scott Lodges and local manager, Jennifer Easter. Helping with the celebration activities were the event staff provided by Family Dollar, face painting and balloon making for kids, Elsberry Fire Department, Lincoln County Ambulance, a DJ and Dickie’s BBQ.
Elsberry’s location is one of the 1000 stores that will be remodeled this year as a hybrid store.
The location offers the same products that have always been available at Family Dollar, but adds the very same $1 items that can be found at Dollar Tree stores and brands it as Dollar Stop.
Easter added, “With the Hybrid store we are able to add a larger selection of items. This type of store is a better fit for our community giving access to consumers hundreds of bargains and seasonal items.”
The two stores used to be rival discount chains, but in 2015, Dollar Tree bought Family Dollar giving the parent company a total of 14,000 stores nationwide. Headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia, it is a Fortune 500 company and currently operates 14,835 stores throughout the 48 contiguous U.S. states and Canada.
