It is one thing to win, but it is another thing to win after being down six runs half way through a game.

The Elsberry Midgets baseball team had a lot riding on their final game of the season last week.  Not only would the win against  a rival Moscow Mills team give them the championship, it would also give them a perfect 14-0 record on the season.

Playing with an attitude of “never give up”, this team of 13 year old boys played their hearts out in an all out team effort to come from behind in the final three innings of the game to take a 8-6 victory and finish with a perfect season.

Head Coach, Bill Woodson, couldn’t have been more proud of the youngsters.

“The boys played so hard and to see their hard work prevail, makes it all worth it,” he added.

As with any successful team, it is everyone who pitches in to help the team with success, from the assistant coaches to the parents who get them to every practice. Woodson made note that without the support of the Elsberry Ball Park Association none of their success would have been possible.
