It was a Saturday night of Country Music as the Elsberry Community Growth Association finished up the 2019 Summer Concert Series.
For the second straight year the ECGA has brought three summer concerts to the new Providence Bank Park at 401 South Fourth Street in Elsberry. The opening act was local country musician Joey Wray. The headliners for the evening were country band Wildfire.
In just a short amount of time this event has become the place to be as each time new vendors bring their talents as well to Elsberry as well as those wanting to have a great time without having to leave the community.
“Saturday’s concert was a great way to wrap up our 2nd annual Summer Concert Series. The weather finally worked in our favor and the community took advantage of the nice evening,” said Chairman Adam Heitman. “We opened the show with Joey Wray a singer songwriter from Bowling Green. Joey put his teaching career on hold to pursue his dream of playing country music. He sang a few originals and some classic covers while the stage was being set for our feature act Wildfire. Wildfire is a five piece country group from St. Louis, they played popular country music and engaged the crowd. They covered “ Devil Went Down to Georgia” and it was awesome. By the end of the night people were dancing in front of the stage and singing along. We hope that the community enjoyed our series again this year and we look forward to hearing from you as we consider future events.”
