Mr. and Mrs. C.E. O’Hanlon sold their farm of 115 acres last week to Mr. and Mrs. Orestes Schlote. It is located one mile west of Millwood.
Bob Boedeker, of Boedeker Motors in Troy, has recently purchased the garage building and adjoining buildings on North 61 from Eldon Turnbull.These buildings include those occupied by Gooch Motors, the body shop operated by Clarence Simmons, and and warehouses used by Gooch Motors and the Seven-Up Company.

Joe Simmons, of Troy, is the new Metropolitan Life Insurance agent for the Troy area.
The New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield will break ground March 31 for a new sanctuary.
Shap Woolfork, co-owner and co-editor of the Troy Press, died March 14.

Youthful participants in the groundbreaking ceremonies held at Friedens United Church of Christ were Janette Adelhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Adelhardt and Darla Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sullivan, all of Moscow Mills. Ground was broken for a new fellowship hall.
Lincoln County Memorial Hospital will celebrate 25 years of service. One event will be holding a dedication of the new third-floor in honor of Derwood Williams.
Hawk Point-A fire extensively damaged the kitchen and bedroom at the home of Larry and Lee Ann Henebry,
They are staying at the home of Bernard and Gen Henebry until repairs are made at their damaged home.
Debbie Huber, age 13, of Silex, was runner-up at a spelling bee held in Washington, Mo. She competed against 20 other students. She is a seventh grade student at St. Alphonsus School in Millwood.
Ground was broken last week on the new county jail located on West College behind the courthouse.
Kemper Lumber Co. has been sold to Tri-County Lumber and Building Products.

Judy Hechler, co-owner of Hechler Hardware in Troy, is the recipient of the Sam Walton Buiness Leader award presented by the Walmart Foundation.
The Silex Owls won the first-ever district boys title for the school with a 65-55 win over Clopton. Adam Twellman scored 19 points to lead the Owls.
