Three businesses in Troy were vandalized including the medical office of Dr. J.C. Creech, Harke’s Liquor Store and the laundromat, all in the same area.

Miss Cheri LaRue, of Troy, was one of 12 piano students of Professor Groff Bittner at a recital held at Lindenwood College. She is in the eighth grade at C laude Brown and is the accompanist for the choir at the school.

Jan. 25, 1978

Death by natural causes was the ruling of Lincoln County John Lenk follwing the discovery of the body of Taylor Allen. 58, Troy, found at his residence. Troy Police Chief Ed Kolb discovered the body.

Julius Wortman suffered a heart attack at the Troy Board of Aldermen meeting. Efforts to revive him failed at the hospital. The meeting was held to discuss the future of the church fellowship softball league in Troy.

The Terry L. Robertson Center, an emergency domestic violence shelter in Lincoln County, opened Feb. 2.

Terry Haub, physical therapist and owner of Professional Rehabilitation Services, opened a new facility at Professional Parkway in Troy.

The LINC, Lincoln County’s public transportation system, has been in operation since 2002. However, they announced that, due to lack of funding, they have been forced to reduce services.
