On Nov. 21, the River Hills Farmers’ Market will hold its annual Holiday Harvest Market,’
It will begin at 8 a.m. at Central Elevator, just west of Silex on Highway E. The market is open to all farmers, growers and craftspeople – and will feature a variety of farm wares and baked goods.
The bird swan is one of the last of the year in the Midwest, and noted for the variety of rare and heirloom poultry and small stock to be seen there.
There is no admission or vendor’s fees, and the day will go on, rain or shine. This is one of the longer established farmers’ markets in Eastern Missouri – and a brief business meeting will follow the day’s market.
All interested in participating in the market are encouraged to attend the meeting. Market board members for the new year are Carol Brown of Bellflower, Milo Traynor or Bowling Green, Kelly Klober of Silex, Aaron Burgen of Higbee and Janet Slawson of Silex.
